Devil in detail. Distanting the plot of Horvester Games Harvester Games Corner
It’s scary to imagine what a game game can turn out. In order for it to become good, the developers need to either move away from the source as much as possible, or with all the thoroughly to convey the features inherent in one of the most famous writers in their genre. This work, as you might guess, is very ungrateful, so here I will not tell you about playing. In a series called Devil Came Through Here, developed Harvester Games (But instead of the studio, the whole article will turn to Rem Mikhalski, because it is responsible for the main creative plan of the games), you can easily find out the moments for which certain plots and techniques of Stephen King are certain plots and techniques. Nevertheless, the more games Mikhalski made, the more the development of his own style, different from Kingovsky, was noticeable. There are four of these games at the moment: Downloadfall: a Horror Adventure Game, The Cat Lady, Downloadfall (2016) And Lorelai. And if the first two games of the series was provided with a fairly warm reception, then the attitude to the two subsequent ones is no longer so unambiguous. To get to the bottom of the bottom (!), First you need to figure out how the plot was presented in them, because this very present is the only thing that has changed from part to part, in addition to technical performance.
Minimum plot – the maximum of the atmosphere
The main character of the first part of the series (Joe Davis) with his wife Ivy unsuccessfully stumble upon a gloomy view hotel Quiet Haven and decide in it to spend the night in order to wait out the rain. And already here Mikhalski shows his ability to disconnect the eerie atmosphere of what is happening through the well-known Kingic technique of hyperbolization of some unpleasant detail until it becomes truly terrible. For example, Ivy meets the player with a tantrum, slightly different from any other female tantrums you have experienced, since it mainly consists of phrases “What, you do not see these lost souls that pull you into the depths of hell?!”, The hotel clearly lacks the staff and at least some kind of noise from the guests, but the one who hung on the walls of this hotel a picture with clowns and other variables of a variety of crowning people obviously did not regret his time. In addition to all this, a full -fledged soundtrack decides to appear here only after ten minutes of dialogs, during which it is quite successfully replaced by the sounds of rain and ticking watches.
After a quarrel with his wife and some incomprehensible, but pacifying sleep, Joe adds a headache (literally), masked corpses located in the dining room and notification that Ivy is now in the company of a certain Sophie (a very massive and dangerous hotel’s guest with a very difficult surname).
With the receipt of a quest to save your wife, you can say goodbye to the plot somewhere until the last fifteen minutes of the game. That is, of course, in the course of the game you fulfill some instructions, experiencing various psychological shocks, but I cannot call it a smooth development of the plot (especially considering the general surgulf). Nevertheless, from time to time, we meet the characters standing mentioning, which seems to be not quite adequate for this place of Dr. Zeleman, whose first order is to deliver the brain of a former serial killer to him, and Agnes is too adequate for this place, which considers everything that is happening to his sleep and takes a purely fan for Joe for Joe. As a result, each of them is cut out of the plot in his own way, and at the most important point, a mustachioed detective comes to Joe and tells how things are actually.
Joe with us listens to the fascinating story about how he pulled the brain with his psychologist Zeleman, painted the walls of his apartment with blood, for a long time held Ivy suffering from anorexia, in his basement and fed until she died. And here we come to three different endings, each of which leads to the death of the detective and Joe’s escape with the body of Ivy to where they are definitely “never found”.
As you can already guess, this game of those whose plot you begin to perceive more holistically only with repeated passage. The game itself explains some subtleties of character motivations in the final. So, after the first passage, we understand that Joe in his sore consciousness represented Ivy as Sophie, and Zeleman actually tried to understand the problems of his client from the good motives and force him to realize and accept some things about himself, the existence of which he would have better and did not remember, which is why the doctor had to say goodbye to life and brain.
But there are also many details in the game, about the true meaning of which we have to guess ourselves. Our main quest to save his wife should be realized after the murder of the four memories of Sophie, personifying her emotional state in different periods of life. And we will learn about all this from the first memory in the form of a little girl who dreams of her death. Unlike Joe in the final of the game, which he himself is surprised with what kind of easily you can shoot some innocent policemen at the beginning of the game, the hero does not meet the prospect of murder with special enthusiasm, which the girl says to him: “… we kill memories every day”. And I don’t really believe something in the accident of this formulation, because the murder makes us killers, and many murders-serial killers. And in the basement of the hotel, so, by the way, there is a corpse of one serial killer, the openness of the skull of which does not prevent him from chasing the heroes in a couple of episodes. And in one scene under his mask, the face of Joe himself is found.
And then at first I tried to build some theory about how different images of Sophie symbolize the constant reincarnation of Ivy into a person with whom Joe cannot maintain a healthy relationship, and how Joe himself blames himself for what happened to his wife, representing himself as her killer. But in order to present these dubious assumptions in the form of a solid picture of what is happening, I either lack knowledge in psychology, or in reality everything is much easier, and the hero’s image of a serial killer relats with himself only because of a feeling of guilt in the death of his younger brother and mother, which we learn closer to the finals.
Despite many such ambiguous formulations, the player at the very beginning may guess about the abnormality of the protagonist, possessing experience in watching “various” horror films with unexpected turns at the end, where everything that happens is explained either by schizophrenia or some boring paranormalmalism. AND Downloadfall, the rest of the name of which I am too lazy to print, Suddenly, it is possible to sit on these two chairs (and some players, who, for some reason, who did not play in the next games of Mikhalski, may not even understand this).
Surely thanks to my impeccable and never confused story of the narrative, you still remember Agnes, who does not fit into the local atmosphere of madness. It is its existence that Joe Devis’s madness questions, because in the scene after the credits she wakes up and remembers absolutely everything that happened to her. Also, the storyline of Agnes gives sufficient reasons to assume that the girl at the reception of the hotel who met us at the beginning of the game, but later trying to seduce, is not just the embodiment of Joe’s sexual dissatisfaction, but a completely real person whose soul after death remained under the influence of the mystical forces of the hotel. Why am I so sure of this, and even stuck my assumption with such details? Well, firstly, she herself said so, standing next to her hanged corpse in one of the hotel rooms, and “secondly”, “thirdly” and so on, I think, it is not necessary to cite already.
The question is what these mystical forces are and why they have so adversely affect some people and seem to have practically no effect on others. I am more than sure that many of you after my references to Stephen King and some mystical hotel have already realized the reference to Shine, which, by the way, is quite successfully located on Dr. Zeleman’s book shelf. But I did not read the book itself, so I can’t say whether it is similar how mystical forces work in the creations of King and Mikhalski. But I know for sure that the key paranormal figure in Devil Came Through Here is the Queen of Cherve, who is met by Agnes in one episode and who, judging by her words, is not going to do anything wrong with the girl (at least until her death). Also, three corpses are mentioned of the Queen of Worms, with whom Joe will be talked about being buried alive. But, without even knowing their words, you can draw certain parallels between the not very pleasant actions of worms in relation to the buried corpses and the process that occurs with Joe throughout the game (his transition from a person with clumsy norms of morality to a madman, the actions of which I described by several paragraphs above). Having this information, of course, you can begin to assume what role Queen Cherveea played in the mental state of the protagonist, but it is better to move on to the plot of the most famous game of the series.
Maximum plot – maximum atmosphere
The topic of human immortality with its positive and negative sides is very interesting, but, unfortunately, exhausted. It’s good that Mikhalski in The Cat Lady is not even going to philosophize about this, instead of which he immediately represents immortality as something obviously bad. Mainly he succeeds thanks to the main character of the game (Susan Eshvort), the first effect of which in this story is suicide as a result of a ten -year depression in this story. So, of course, she was not delighted with such a generous gift. And I don’t really want to accept anything from the one who calls himself the queen. So, in order to finally die, the heroine needs to first kill five very bad people for her new acquaintance, whom she very affectionately calls parasites.
Since from the very beginning we were identified the role of the queen of worms in the plot, there was no reason to turn this plot again into many incoherent events with an even larger number of interpretations. This, of course, reduced the concentration of cool surreal scenes, but they did not disappear completely from the game, which is very pleasing. But first about the simple.
What a well -known and very effective technique of revealing an asocial protagonist with a dark past we know? It is necessary to put some secondary character to him, who, like us, will not know anything about the main character, but will receive new information about him in the development of relations with him.
Such a character for Susan becomes Mitzi Hunt, which is also her complete opposite: she is very sociable, friendly, and she also has cancer. It turns out that unlike a protagonist who wants to die, but cannot, Mitzi wants to live, but cannot (phrase from the game). They obviously come closer and ironically become mirroring each other in the climax, where Susan dissuades his girlfriend from a reckless and useless act, which is equivalent to suicide.
A player who draws attention to multiple mention of how Susan hates flowers, and to her negative reaction when mentioning children can immediately build several assumptions about the past of the main character, which will not be particularly different from the truth. These assumptions are confirmed or refuted somewhere in the middle of the game during a flashback dedicated to a tense relationship with Susan with her husband, the death of their daughter and the consequences to which all this led.
Yes, I don’t accidentally focus on the relationship of the heroine with her husband, because no matter how sad the death scene of a newborn child may be due to a rare allergy to floral pollen, much more important in this flashback how Susan is revealed. In addition to how brilliantly the fact that the thoughts and personal experiences of Susan are more priority for her are most priority than the rest that is happening in the world,
The heroine’s husband claims that she, hiding behind her daughter, simply does not want to work on herself, correct her mistakes and shortcomings (even if all this is under a thick layer of sexism). Of course, I am not a mother, but I think that it’s not so easy to take care of the baby and do housework, but in fact it is not so important whether Susan’s husband said the truth then (we can only judge by this flashback). It is much more important that these words are fair in relation to the Susan that we know: she does not love people, rude to others (even if they are caricatures on the most vile people whom we meet everywhere), and she does not want to somehow correct her deplorable social situation. Susan just doesn’t want to move forward. The impetus that is provided to her is the queen of worms and Mitzi is needed here.
In this regard, one of those surrealistic episodes that I mentioned earlier is much more interesting in this regard. At his beginning, Susan in her own apartment on both sides begins to gradually surround and press the walls of skulls (consider thoughts of death). Then we get into some abandoned and littered (this is important) port. I am sure that this is a kind of embodiment of the emotional state of the heroine, and I hope that as my story it will become as obvious to you as for you, because it will not be so easy for me to describe what is happening to me now as to explain the meaning of all scenes from all scenes from Downloadfall combined (although it would seem).
The only way out of this place is the elevator, and in order for it to work, you need to solve a few puzzles. One of them is in the corridor with several levers. Also from there we see another corridor located behind the glass. And we need to spend to the end of that corridor of the ghost (or memory, or, as it were, so-eth-fignu-fi) in the guise of Susan by lowering the blocks to the place where this ghost is worth. The puzzle is not complicated, but it causes at a certain moment a certain bewilderment that we all know under the code name “What, damn it, it was now?”. It consists in the fact that if the corridor is free from the blocks both in front and from behind, then lowering the block into the place where the ghost stands, provoke it to go back, and not forward. And this behavior of the ghost under the guise of Susan exactly reflects the attitude of the main character to his life (even the same impetus necessary for the promotion of Susan in life is shown here).
Nevertheless, in order for the elevator to finally earn, we will also need to kill something. This “something” is a monster that is located in the mirror of one of the rooms and in which Susan, wary, recognizes something from himself. It is necessary to kill him with the help of Susan’s reflection, which, both with a robe and gait, refers us to the episode when we were chopped by medicines in the hospital. It is more interesting that this reflection kills the monster in the same pose and with the same animation as when we pierced the “Spider Heart” in the hospital episode to collect the drug from it (do not ask). I am sure that I could still paint the meaning of such a name for several paragraphs for a huge heart hanging in the middle of the hospital and why some kind of drug is whipping from it, but I’m too lazy. Therefore, I simply limit myself to a simple assumption according to which the spiders are associated with something poisonous, as well as drugs. That is, the monster in the mirror is a reflection of the toxicity of Susan, its unwillingness to live and work on herself. Finally in this thought I was convinced by the final immersion of the heroine in the elevator, which I used to perceive as a banal death. Now I am ready to swear that we are shown “immersion” Susan into the very desire to find another way out of his deplorable position, in addition to suicide. And this opportunity appeared in Susan only after she killed the vile incarnation of her reluctance to live.
Okay, I already spoke more about Susan than Joe jokerbetcasino.co.uk Devis, the story of which I, by the way, cut off at a glance. Well, he will continue at a short time, since our acquaintance Joe quite comfortably settled in the apartment opposite Susan Eshvort. And our, so to speak, a neighboring visit to him is probably my favorite episode in the entire series in terms of atmospheric discharge. First, it manifests itself in simple references to Downloadfall, like quick switching of the channels on the TV, where various deaths of Sophie, or the door with the inscription show a briefly 666, which could be seen in the last part. These references of the bathroom, located behind the Devil’s door, the frame in which is very cool: there is a barely noticeable shadow in front of the mirror, most likely belonging to Ivy, and in overwhelming water the bathroom is mannequin, which represents the established image of the wife in the head of Joe and the experiences overwhelming Ivy herself (probably). Then we meet with the culprit of the celebration, and, oh my God, which this character became interesting thanks to the efforts of the actor actor: first Joe breaks into Susan, insults it in a fit of anger, and the next thing he says: “And who are you who are you who is?”, Which sounds so at ease and disinterestedly that the player involuntarily breaks through the laughter. He pronounces a random phrase in a chant, and in some again passes to a scream. As a result, Susan with his back reaches one hole in the floor, Downfall is in it and … wakes up already before the inscription “Devil Came Through Here” is already familiar to us.
Having gone to a specific door, we see a diluted hotel room Quet Haven and Joe that meets us, who seems to be a completely excellent person from the type that Susan saw a couple of moments ago. In exchange for information about the location of the exit, Joe asks Susan to talk with his wife, who has been painted in another room for a month. All this is poured into a mystery to change the position of the mirrors in the room with Ivy, which ends with Joe’s words that this is not his wife, but the monster following him on the heels. In a typical manner, he shifts all responsibility to Susan for himself, ordering her to kill the “monster”. And everything would be nothing if Joe had not mentioned a certain power that Susan “stole” from him, for which the heroine naturally asks Joe, how did he know about her strength. I still ask myself what power Devis had in mind. Obviously not immortality, because, firstly, the resurrection of Joe after death in Downloadfall It was carried out only through the conservation and downloads of the game, and secondly, in the event of a refusal, it leads a gun to Susan with the intention of killing it. The only thing I could think of is power interactions with paranormal forces (?), That is, as in a situation with a girl at a reception in Quet Haven, Which paranormal forces influenced not only physically, but also psychologically, as a result of which she did not see the point of interfering and warning Joe and his wife about the hazard of the hotel. This sounds, of course, like that nonsense, and I would even be ashamed of my absolute powerlessness before this rebus if he were the only thing that falls out of the lining world Downloadfall And The Cat Lady.
I do not want to focus on the fact that a person who has not played the previous game, exactly like Susan is lost in what is happening, and the same words of Joe, sending us to the events Downloadfall, seem to him by incoherent delirium. But not because I already described a very similar technique in Mitzi’s relationship and Susan. Just familiar with Downloadfall Players understand in what is happening not much more than anyone else. Yes, everything related to the personalities of Joe and Ivy Devis, it is shown very cool and comprehensive, but the way the whole episode with these characters is inscribed in the world of the feline, causes a lot of questions.
The first inconsistency appears long before the examination of the Joe’s apartment. The fact is that the first parasite to be killed by the main character is a hospital psychologist named Zeleman. And this could be attributed to a simple reference, if later in the Joe’s mailbox we would not find a letter from which we learn that our hemisphere recently stopped coming to sessions to non-oko-mu Zhel- In what sense, these are brothers?! Why should I accidentally find out about this from some random Wiki In the middle of the writing of the argument?… Okay, drove.
Then let’s move on to something more obvious. For example, to the location of the Joe’s apartment, which has never been like what we saw in the final Downloadfall. Of course, there is an option that he could move to some other apartment, but, seriously, in some dungeons of the apartments, Susan is already a room with an electric chair and a fed Ivy sitting on it. And I really doubt that Joe managed to find some other apartments with a secret room where you can quietly drag Ivy with this chair.
But the headache does not even begin here, because in another abandoned room of these apartments we can find a sign with the name of the hotel we know.
Reference? Isn’t it too much? To the very vision of Joe and Ivy in the room Quet Haven I’m not even trying to find fault. Do not care that such a scene was neither in the original game nor in remake. My eye caught on something much more interesting. You see, by the fact that we see in downloadfall, I got the impression that we were shown by Joe’s long -willed months of life, the long -standing months of life: the way he and Ivy had spoiled at the end, how he kept and fed her in the basement until the “death” itself. But, as I mentioned above, according to Joe in The Cat Lady Ivy is painted in the room for about a month, and at the end of the vision, Mitzi says that no more than a minute has passed over the entire absence, which even Susan is surprised. That is, in this schizophrenic delirium time goes slower, although in theory it should go faster than in reality. This is not just some kind of inconsistency, but a real fundamental contradiction. As if the creator of the game personally spat in my face for only an attempt to figure out the world -use of his series. Someone might think that I just pull the owl on the globe, but consider it a kind of cliffhanger, because such contradictions, one might say, will be a real feature of the series.
Maximum plot – a minimum of the atmosphere
Remake Downloadfall 2016 does everything that remakes should do: more skillfully ties everything that happens to the plot The Cat Lady, In every sense, it updates the original, which is almost non-packed even during its exit, which attracts to a series of beginners, and that plays the original with an updated narrative, which is why the already familiar story, this time considered at an unfamiliar angle, begins to play with new colors, which is ironic, because the first significant and noticeable change concerns the change in places of acidic white and white-white picture with a black and white picture with a black and white picture with a black and white picturefrequent intersperses of red for obvious reasons.
To understand the meaning of this color palette, you do not even need to have my formation of a great connoisseur of metaphors. So Mikhalski very obviously makes it clear that after a very stupid death of his brother Joe, a black strip begins in the hero’s life. You can also attribute here to the fact that at about this moment Joe falls under the influence of the queen, which, of course, is a little contrary to the meaning of the general color style The Cat Lady, But the series Devil Went- (Ouch) Came Through Here and before that was not an exemplary example of constancy.
Also, a rather pleasant innovation is that the narrative does not disappear after the final itself, because of which something could be found out about the psychological state of the protagonist only by the crypt actions that we had to perform gamlay throughout the game. This time, the condition in which Joe is located has become more tangible thanks to several episodes of self -digging of the protagonist, which is almost more surrealistic than the rest of the game.
In the first such episode, Joe comes to his apartments from The Cat Lady and from the letter of Dr. Zeleman, the key to the basement (consider the key to your own subconscious in his mailbox). However, soon after entering this basement, we are killed by a bloodied double of Joe with an ax. All of the explained and inexplicable violence I am already used to dumping on the queen of worms, so, probably, she is so trying to prevent her long -suffering sacrifice with her head with her head. Next time we will find ourselves in this basement, so as not to directly kill the cat associated with the Ivy cat (although in this case he is more likely to personifies the relationship between Joe and Ivy in general). After Araki goes into the next part of the series in order to monitor the execution of the quota to suffer animals, we finally notice the newly appeared bloody Joe, which quickly leaves as if in satisfaction of what happened.
Ivy also appeared like such moments of fame. For the first time, we manage to see her when the camera makes a krienzhovo 3D-lunch on a hole in the head of a corpse of a former serial killer with an ax. In this hole, we see how Ivy after a conversation with Joe that she begins to eat like a normal person again enters the bathroom. Of course, the light sharply turns off there, and a bloody image of a woman crawls out of the bloody bath, which at first seems fat, but then turns out to be very skinny. He calls Ivi Tolstoy (it is obvious that these words distorting the true figure of Ivy belong to the Queen). From them, the girl falls into despair and climbs into the toilet (a very peculiar way to show that her self -esteem is about the same).
It is much more difficult to understand here who this time belongs to a brainless corpse.
If he belongs to Joe, then where in his hole the scene with Ivy, because the news of the protagonist is that his troubles with the head prevent him from objectively perceiving the reality and problems of others (including the problems of his wife).
If it belongs to Ivy, it becomes incomprehensible, then what then means the gameplay moment when the corpse politely asks us to return his brain to place. When we saw the scene in the bathroom, the corpse’s brain was still in place, that is, along with the missing brain, the corpse wants to return the suffering of Ivy from the scene in the bathroom … But at the sight of this corpse, Joe blurts out the phrase that this person seems to him familiar. It turns out that, since in addition to Ivy in the real world of Joe’s game, except with Zeleman (and he certainly cannot have Ivy’s memories), Ivy is the only possible contender for a corpse.
And you remember Agnes (after my mention of it, only 4 months have passed for me and 3000 read words for you)? In this reality, her already distinguished adequacy makes it even stronger and more regularly made to the player how terrible and divorced from reality is Quiet Haven, Although in this game she is not even a real person. Like a strong discharge of the current that leads it to life, it revives everything that is happening in the game, starting with the fact that only its voice acting from the entire acting caste can be called truly alive (and professional), and ending with numerous attempts to avoid any actions, because of which you can doubt its psychological balance (unlike).
Agnes manages to draw up a company not only Joe, but also the Queen of Worms. Also, at some point, she stumbles upon Ivy, sitting with her head lowered in a chair in the middle of a dark maze. This scene symbolizes that it is very difficult to find a way out of that hopeless hole, in which there is now a family soul of Joe, and in addition to this, Ivy herself does not even try to find a way out of his position due to the lack of faith in her success. Of course, Agnes, by virtue of his character, can convince Ivy to get up and go to look for a way out with her, but still loses the newfound companion halfway.
Understand the embodiment of which Agnes actually is surprisingly simple, because it contains all the qualities that these unlucky devices are not enough:
For Joe – the life principles, thanks to which Agnes is trying to find a way out of this situation, without staining his hands with blood;
Joe’s phrase, addressed to Agnes, who thought about her own role in the incomprehensible events: “The doctor said that you are important”. But it was on the initiative of the local Frankenstein (local embodiment of psychologist Joe) that we helped to resurrect Agnes. That is, like an “key from the subconscious” Agnes ultimately needed to solve the mental problems of Joe, not least related to his family life. This interpretation is confirmed by the fact that it is with the help of Agnes Joe that Ivy is able to resurrect at the end of the game .. The end .. Well, we will continue my torment!
In general, under the worm trip, Joe begins to make noise in his real apartment, which is why our dear Susan Eshvort wakes up. Then she in her manner collects a crypt stick to kill the next parasite, and beats her a protagonist from the back.
There are only three endings in this game.
And she diligently pretends that these endings correspond to the mood of the ends from The Cat Lady: if we played the whole game the worst version of Joe Devis, then the game suggests that in this universe and Susan made only bad decisions. So, in the worst ending, after beating, Susan puts us on an electric chair and fries, and then goes to incite people to suicide on the Internet.
Everything is logical so far … But in the remaining two endings, Devis repulses the feline.
In a neutral ending, after hitting the head, Joe just gets up and kills Susan, and then runs out of the burning apartments along with his wife’s body burned to the bones. After that, we are shown a newspaper article in which there is no mention of the survivors, so, apparently, in this ending, Susan lost immortality, and Mitzi did not die of cancer (since she appeared here for a couple of seconds). By the way, such a layout is the best ending in The Cat Lady, and entering the best ending from there neutral is a little strange, but let’s say.
Real problems begin with a better ending, where, apparently, as a reward for all the good deeds, Joe turns out to be “impossible”, and Ivy still helps to resurrect a small discharge with an electric shock, after which Joe escapes with her no longer lifeless body. I would have even imbued with this moment if the final newspaper notch did not say that Susan, despite the fact that Ivy killed her, survived (apparently thanks to immortality). Maybe Susan remained immortal in this universe, and Mitzi died of cancer? But Mitzi is also present here. Maybe Mitzi here just had not yet had time to die from cancer? But in the ending of The Cat Lady nothing was said about how a couple of maniacs with an ax killed her. I am not trying to find fault with the little things, I just do not believe that a person can declare how the endings of his related projects are combined by mood, and in the end to kill all the logic of almost the most important ending with one damn proposal. Believe me, Mikhalski – the troll is worse than Kojima, and the plot of the next game of this series proves this even more.
Minimum plot – a minimum of the atmosphere
It is so interesting to write about this game that, perhaps, I start my story with how I managed to state my thoughts about the previous parts of the series.
I’m starting to write about the first Downloadfall And I think: “Well, there are not so many plots, so I will lay down in three or four paragraphs” (as a result, about ten paragraphs in 1120 words).
I’m starting to write about The Cat Lady And I think: “Well, there are much fewer any surrealistic moments, which I spent so much time last time” (as a result, more than ten paragraphs in 2020).
Glory to the queen of worms, in the plot of the new Downloadfall There are moments that I already managed to explain in the story of its original version (but in the end it still turned out more than ten paragraphs in 1320 words).
ABOUT Lorelai I naturally have nothing to tell. That is, of course, in it there is an inappropriate- (Ugh, I almost said “ambiguity”) incomprehensible moments, there are personifications, metaphors and other scenario-literary strands, but even if you can think about them, then you still do not learn anything new and interesting about the plot and characters of the game.
In short, here you have the whole plot
We play for a young girl named Lorelai, who lives in Klopovnik with her recently born sister Betani, an even more helpless depressive mother and unemployed drinker. And the dream of the main character about a quiet carefree life, along with her sister, collapses at the moment when their mother hangs, and the stepfather kills Lorela and is going to drown Bethany. In desperation after his death, Lorelaus concludes the contract for yourself-cube-cem and returns to life in order to die again, to fulfill for the queen of worms a task of aggravating the depression of one random alcoholic in the eyeballs to die again by resurrection, and then take it into hell and his stepfather. Then we undermine the queen of worms, and she, before death, in his style begins to tell her one understandable formulations, having previously taken the appearance of the main character and disappears. The heroine herself in a good ending acquires the very quiet life that she dreamed about, because she learned to resist the filthy thoughts and feelings, the embodiment of which was (or is) the Queen of the Worms.
You think I deliberately lowered the details that make this plot interesting? Honestly, at some point I myself began to invent my hidden meaning for this plot. Like, Lorelai is a more ambiguous version of Joe Devis, and the hilarious simplicity of the local plot is associated with the narrowness of the perception of reality by the main character, but in fact it can be a bad person who can replace the Queen of Worms. This theory seems to confirm that in Downloadfall (2016) and in Lorelai The queen said that her was once called Lorela, but she always brought this conversation to the fact that she just had a lot of names. Yes, I myself believe that her connection with the main character is more metaphorical than physical, because the Queen of Cherve himself is the embodiment of all bad thoughts, sensations and vices of mankind. I won’t be surprised if she was once still called Susan, Mitzi, Joe, Ivy and further on the list. Also, my version of the plot of self -deception Lorelai is very unlikely, since we are constantly trying to cause pity for her by setting most people from her surroundings by garbage (in previous games of the series, we at least understood that we themselves play for unpleasant people).
For some incomprehensible reason, after death, mannequins begin to pursue us, in the room provided by Lorelai Queen Worms, we are literally surrounded by mannequins, and in another tunnel we see a huge “real” Queen of Cherves, which itself looks like mannequins. I have two equally useless interpretations of this moment.
In the first mannequins, they personify a certain false of this world and this story, and the “real” queen of worms is similar to the fact that he herself eats, because the main character is more convenient to come up with a banal enemy instead of fighting their more shapeless and important problems.
In the second mannequins, they are the victims of the queen of worms, which she recruits like Susan or Lorela, as a result of which nothing should remain in them except the dead shell.
The first interpretation confirms the theory of the evil Lorela, which, as we found out, is the complete nonsense that contradicts the message of the story told to us. The second interpretation is less delusional, since it does not contradict anything that we know, but it does not help in terms of understanding the plot and characters of the characters of the game (that is, absolutely useless).
And what the plot could turn out to be interesting if Lorelai still had to become the new queen of worms. It would be possible to furnish this in the form of a cycle in which people who suffered from “parasites” in their lives should become the new queen worms, so that after their death, do everything possible in order to make the lives of bad people as terrible as possible. This would make the meaning of all the banality and simplicity of the local plot. And if you need a good ending, then, depending on the actions of the player, Lorelai could break this cycle, realizing that some people who have committed terrible actions in their lives deserve a second chance. Such a turning point could be an episode where we had to force us to start drinking an alcoholic in the eyeballs, which I mentioned earlier (this is my favorite moment in the game, and he would have at least some meaning for the plot).
When the game began to close to an end, I realized with horror that the references to the previous games I saw here do not violate the integrity of the entire series. Fortunately, in the final itself we visit already familiar apartments, where two of our former protagonists live. More precisely, they should, since another character lives in Joe’s apartment, completely useless for the plot. Lorelai It is exactly the sequel The Cat Lady, And yet, despite the hot finale Downloadfall (2016) Apartments do not even look like that they once blazed in full. Perhaps they were restored, but the glass in the place where Joe in the final of the remake pulled the wall -mounted fire ax, everything is also broken (and you still think that Mikhalski accidentally does it?).
I do not know and I don’t want to know in what production hell this game could be, because this knowledge will not change in any way Lorelai There is not a drop of that terrible, mysterious and a quarter of the King’s atmosphere, for which many fell in love with the previous three parts. And I can characterize the resulting product only by the phrase “Close Experiment”. The author, of course, has the right to make any decisions regarding his work, but I think that Devil Came Through Here – This is not the series, the fourth game of which should be such an experiment.
If you are at least somewhat interested in the plot of the series, but you do not really want to get acquainted with the games themselves, because you think that I have spent the whole story for you, then do not rush to worry. In all these games, most of the information I told is not heard in direct text, and it has many possible and impossible interpretations (but not in the story about Lorelai). Also, in order not to delay the spelling of this article for another two to three months, I decided to lower many of the details interesting and ambiguous in the interpretation (but not in the story about Lorelai). And, of course, do not forget that games are too comprehensive works to evaluate them only by one component (but in Lorelai problems not only with the plot).
